Steel Blue offers two main safety toe options: Steel Toe Cap and Composite Toe Cap. Steel Toe boots are required on most worksites and provide strong protection in heavy-duty conditions. Composite Toe boots are non-metallic and airport-friendly, ideal for FIFO workers or those passing through security. For non-hazard environments, Steel Blue also provides Non-Safety boots focused on comfort and durability.
Both meet Australian, European, and American safety standards. Steel offers higher cut resistance, while Composite is lighter and recovers better after impact or compression.
Yes — all Steel Blue boots are Anti-Static, except those labelled ‘EH Series’ (Electrical Hazard). You can confirm Anti-Static certification by checking for A, O1, O2, O3, S1, S2, or S3 symbols inside the boot. Electrical resistance can deteriorate with wear or contamination, so regular checks are recommended.
Â
Anti-Static boots discharge static electricity safely, while Electrical Hazard boots are designed to insulate against live electrical current. The right choice depends on your job type.
Â
Steel Blue boots with Steel or Composite Toe Caps are independently certified to:
- AS/NZS 2210.3 (Australia & New Zealand)
- ASTM F2413 (USA)
- CE EN ISO 20345 (Europe)
Non-safety styles meet:
- AS/NZS 2210.5
- EN ISO 20347
- ASTM F2892
Steel Blue offers TPU (Thermoplastic Urethane) and Nitrile outsoles. TPU is lightweight, flexible, and resistant to oil and acid — ideal for most trades. Nitrile withstands heat up to 300°C, making it perfect for welders or high-heat environments.
A Nitrile Outsole is best suited to welding as it resists short-term contact with hot slag and high temperatures.
Composite Toe models like the Canberra and Torquay are lighter than Steel Cap options such as the Argyle or Argyle Zip.
These models include a protective midsole layer that prevents sharp objects from piercing through.
Yes — Steel Blue is a Western Australian brand and continues to manufacture both locally and in its dedicated Indonesian facility.
No. The Baltico® lining and premium materials regulate temperature and wick moisture, keeping your feet cool and dry regardless of colour.
The zip attachment system lets you easily remove or put on your boots without sacrificing ankle support.
Steel Blue’s TECtuff® Chemical Resistant boots meet ISO 13832-2 standards.
They are tested against 30% Sodium Hydroxide and 90% Sulphuric Acid. For information about other chemicals, please contact Steel Blue support.
